If you or a loved one suffers from Alzheimer’s, Early Onset Alzheimer’s, or another Dementia related disease, if you are an advocate, or want to know more about these diseases, we invite you to join us.
At Memory People™, you will find care and support in a comfortable and safe environment where patients, caregivers, and all involved come together to share our stories, support each other, and bring awareness to these diseases. Memory People™ is a Facebook group founded by Rick Phelps who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease June of 2010. Rick saw the need for real-time interaction for all those touched by these diseases.
First, you will need to have a Facebook account to join us. From your Facebook home page, type “Memory People™ ” into the search bar. Then click on Memory People™, and you will be taken to our home page where you can read about us. Then, just click on the “Join Group” button and one of our Administrators will add you to the group.
If you or a loved one has been touched by Alzheimer’s or another Dementia related disease, we encourage you to join us, at Memory People™.
..bringing Awareness, one person at a time..

Given the devastating impact of Alzheimer’s disease, it’s so important and valuable to have free online support available, particularly for those who are isolated and can’t get to offline support groups in their area, or who need help at times when offline resources may not be available.
In addition to participating in Memory People on Facebook, another support resource for Alzheimer’s caregivers is Caring.com’s free online Stage Groups: http://www.caring.com/alzheimers-support One participating caregiver (Tracey Jackson of Alabama) described her online group as “a godsend” that she can “log on at 4 a.m. and have someone to talk to — or vent to.” She adds, “The prayers and words of encouragement are the best.” And she is not alone — there are now more than 120,000 Alzheimer’s caregivers getting support from the Steps & Stages online resource: http://www.caring.com/about/news-room/alzheimers-support.html.
Thanks for helping to spread the word about these free online support resources in the Alzheimer’s community!
